Ongoing Professional Learning Initiatives and Workforce Training Programs

In response to the market demand for an increasingly specialized workforce, Vanderbilt University School of Engineering (VUSE) has launched initiatives in developing customized learning materials for employee up-skilling and re-skilling via online or in-person training programs across engineering fields.

The goal of helping VUSE’s industry partners recruit, foster, retain and further develop talents for the workforce led to the design and creation of an experiential education program with a customizable curriculum, flexible format and technological integration. VUSE has the unique and rich expertise in specialized areas such as radiation effects on electronics in space, data science, data analytics, computer science, risk assessment and management and engineering management and leadership, etc.

I look forward to connecting with you and learn more your needs to build and develop your team and how we can help you achieve your goals.

Thanks,
Joanne Wang

Destination Vanderbilt

Vanderbilt University launched Destination Vanderbilt in 2020, a $100 million university excellence initiative to recruit new faculty. As part of the Destination Vanderbilt hiring initiative, the School of Engineering launched Destination Vanderbilt: Computer Science, a multi-year faculty recruitment and hiring process in Computer Science for at least 20 tenure-track positions (above already planned hiring) at the assistant, associate and full professor levels, but with preference at early-career appointments — effectively doubling the department faculty size.

In the first year of the initiative, the department welcomed eight new faculty members. In the second year, the initiative will support at least eight more new faculty positions.
